Founded in 2021 as a chapter of Google Developer Student Clubs, the organization has grown both in members and its impact on the university. As a GDSC Chapter, GDSC PUPSTB has held events and workshops that upskill the students in the wide arching field of technology and immerse them in the industry through our partnerships.

However, due to changes in the Google Developer program, the organization is removed as a GDSC Chapter. But it stayed its niche as the official tech and innovations club in the PUP Sto. Tomas, and will now carry the name Iskonnovators Student Community.

With the advent of AI and Big Data in various industries, including the education sector, it just seems appropriate to equip the Isko and Iska of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sto. Tomas Branch with a quality training for them to be industry-competent in terms of AI and data-related skills.
This is just what we brought to the school after a successful implementation of our partnership with DataCamp to give deserving students a free access to their high-quality data and programming courses and industry recognize learning platform.
GDSC PUPSTC become a DataCamp Donates partner on October 27, 2023, after Mr. Nathaniel Taylor-Leash accepted our application for the program. GDSC was given 50 premium licenses to award to deserving applicants.
The scholarship applications, which lasted only two days starting from November 5, received a little over 200 applications, from applicants from different schools, backgrounds, industries, and professions. We also encourage the students and the academe of our university to apply to this opportunity, with some of them accepted in the program. We do another set of application in February where we accept many of the waitlisted individuals and accepted a number of new applicants. By the end of the year, our DataCamp Donates program accepted a total of 122 scholars.
Accepted applicants will receive free DataCamp premium licences, which gives them access to over 360 courses, certifications, tracks, competitions, and ready-to-use templates and datasets in the DataCamp platform!

This program trully satisfy the mission of GDSC PUPSTB to empower people through technology education, as well as the mission of DataCamp, which is to provide free data education to those who need it most.
“Through DataCamp Donates, we actualize our mission to promote data and AI to our school and other people in the country. And they truly maximize this opportunity because our scholars are getting a lot of XPs and hundreds of courses completed. As for me, I once became a DataCamp Donates scholar before in other organizations, and now to be able to manage a DataCamp Donates program and share it to our community is such an honor.”
-Mark Jayson Agao, President of GDSC PUPSTC

The GDSC-PUPSTB aims to use this program to contribute to the development of a smart and data-driven community in PUP Sto. Tomas Campus and in the future, reach the whole Region 4-A.
